Equity Specialists serve many roles within our schools and in the community. Their roles include advocating and mediating change and being the bridge of understanding for families, students, administration, and staff. Equity specialists assist in further developing our district's Strategic Plan and implementing our Equity Belief Statement so that all students can reach their fullest potential while becoming model citizens in our community.

The responsibilities of equity specialists start with student support: mentoring, forming support groups, offering social and emotional support, and academic support. Equity specialists also engage with families, helping them navigate and understand school protocol and expectations while providing information and connections with resources in order to support our families and student body. They also collaborate with social workers, counselors, and other support staff to ensure students are sufficiently supported in the district. Equity specialists also form PLC Restorative Circles, PBIS teams, work with equity teacher leaders, and create administration and team meetings. With the support of administration and teachers, equity specialists help integrate an equity-centered institution for learning.
